Located in
Kutztown in Berks County, Pennsylvania, Renningers Antiques was started in 1955 as a farmers' market offering the finest in fresh and smoked meats, farm produce, poultry, fish, candy, snacks and baked goods. The numerous antiques raised the need for a place for themselves and in 1974 a building was added to the farmers' market for the same. The first Special Antiques and Collector's Extravaganza was held in 1975 which proved to be a huge success with over 200 dealers setting up their antiques and trading and buying amongst themselves as well as with the visitors. The spectacular success of the first extravaganza translated to it becoming a necessary tradition among the antique lovers, traders and buyers. The weekend Antique Market has become a very popular event among locals as well as visitors to the area. The highlight of the weekly antique markets are the occasional special events such as the Antiques and Collectors Extravaganza. With 10 acres of free parking and free admission, Renningers is a popular favorite among the antique aficionados. As one of the best antique and collectibles destination of the country, it houses over 300 indoor stands and over 200 outdoor vendors. The indoor section is open on Sundays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Extravaganza, held three times a year, brings in crowds of antique dealers and collectors. Exhibits featuring books, toys, collectibles, quilts, and jewelry are set up either in two pavilions or in the outdoor tents. The Extravaganza is held on the last Thursday, Friday & Saturday in April, June & September behind Renningers Antiques and Farm market.
