Hands-on House opened in 1987 in an old Victorian farmhouse called Pierce Landis House. In 2000, they moved across the street to the Landis Valley Museum campus and realized they were there to stay, so the construction began. Today this facility consists of 7,300 square feet, with 3,100 square feet designed for the many exhibits the museum has to offer. In addition to the space for the children's museum, they also have a separate space designated for historical objects from the Landis Valley Museum. Hands-on House provides the perfect setting for class trips, birthday parties and other special events. A bonus they offer is the chance to get a membership, which will provide you with a year of unlimited free admission, specials just for members, reduced costs and discounts on special events, classes and parties.
