New Year in Lancaster, PA
Lancaster is known for its summer celebrations and open-air festivals. However, there are many other events through the year worth attending. One of them is New Year in Lancaster. The entire 'Christmas Season' brings to life the best that was Christmas in the past, making it a part of Christmas present. In the past, the Christmas season was the height of the year's celebrations, with the climax being the New Year's Celebration.
Start you celebration any way you want. Music lovers can enjoy the nightlife and the best of the city's events. Or, a more traditional Amish quilting tour and sleigh ride. The New Year's Even 'old fashioned' celebration opens up the town of Lancaster streets. Visitors can enjoy family-oriented entertainments that include 100 performers, fireworks, and a grand finale to see in the New Year.
The event does require Admission buttons for admission to all events. They can be purchased prior to the event, or at the door. The adult price is $12USD. Six to twelve years old are admitted for $6USD. Children under five are free.
All the events, displays, and activities take place within easy walking distance. However, shuttle service is also provided. Don't expect to drive to the area and find parking unless you arrive hours before the celebration starts.
The Lancester Recreation Commission organizes and manages the event, along with other events through the year. The event is well supported. This is not just another 'community' event. Many corporate sponsors and professional performers take part in the event, with each year promising more fun than the last.
