Labor Day in Lancaster, PA

Labor Day is a great time of year to come to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Visitors can get the day off at their workplace and head over to this historic town with plenty of great features to visit, from lodging to restaurants to historic sites to the Dutch Amish country. Visitors can start out on the amazing Red Rose Transit Authority, a special type of transportation that sends them all across the city for easy movement from one area to another. They can also head to the Lancaster train station and experience a historic train ride. Visitors will have the chance to visit many of the historic highlights within the city of Lancaster, including the Central Market, one of the original markets that was built in 1889 and remains as the oldest farmers market that has been running constantly with farmers' produce since it first began. Visitors can also see other great places like the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Fulton Opera House, Hamilton Watch Complex, J.P. McCaskey High School, Lancaster County Prison, Rock Ford Plantation, W.W. Griest Building and the incredible Wheatland, the estate of former president James Buchanan.
