Hands On House Half Marathon & 5K

The Hands-on House Children’s Museum is a non-profit organization that serves to enrich the lives of families and children in the Lancaster community. Each year, they host a half marathon and 5K run to benefit the Hands-on House. The route includes scenic roads in the Pennsylvania Dutch country, going over quaint areas like a covered bridge and past a one-room schoolhouse.

The race takes place in October every year. The entire course is 13.1 miles long, but a shorter, 5K course is available as well. Walkers are welcome to participate, but are asked to come earlier to start the course at 8:00. The half marathon begins at 9:00 and the 5K begins at 9:15. There is a Kids Fun Run that begins at 11:30 am. This event is the perfect activity for families who want to see the beauty of Lancaster County, and it is possible to stand on the sidelines and cheer on the racers who are running for a great cause!
