The Landis Valley Museum is a great place to visit during a vacation in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania region. The museum aims to preserve Pennsylvania German Culture and features a variety of exhibits that are educational and interesting. They also host several exciting events throughout the year. Each July, the Civil War Day celebration begins. It is a living history event in which people dressed in authentic military costume perform a reenactment. The reenactments features cavalry drills and demonstrations of musket firing, and a variety of other activities. Families can even join in on the fun and participate in a musket drill!
Also at the event will be a variety of craft demonstrations from the Civil War period of history, including tinsmithing and tavern cooking. Wagon rides will also provide families with a fun activity to do together.
